Fuckin’ News, man. Sheesh.

CNN is well positioned to produce a compelling, substantial hour of news that would also do well in the ratings. Another talking heads show, even if it is a more even-handed one, cannot compete against Bill O’Reilly and Keith Olbermann. The neglected demographic is the sizeable group of people … who crave a newscast in the mold of BBC’s World News and Canada’s The National.

It’s fucking pathetic that “there is no room for a moderate, balanced viewpoint” in the news. Stop fucking pandering to the extremes and you won’t get a totally fractured America. Olbermann is JUST as fucking bad as Bill O’Reilly. Don’t act like being a liberal excludes you from anything. It’s not “US vs THEM”. It’s “Us vs Us”.  

If people - for once - said no to the constant fellating of the American mindset - we MIGHT ohmygodwejustmight get something done. But right now you can automatically subscribe to a way of life that is ENTIRELY dedicated to you and your viewpoints alone. You don’t have to ever - ever - ever - question yourself. And that in itself is a very important part of growing up and being an adult. Sometimes you are wrong, and you need to correct yourself and move on. It’s called being an adult and growing up. If we all subscribed to the same ideology that we are currently allowed to digest within the context of the American media, we’d all be wearing diapers, pooping ourselves, and eating ice cream with our hands. It’d be like the spaceship from Wall.E. 

The weird thing is about the American media landscape is that you don’t need to think. That’s the beauty of it. It’s a democracy where you don’t have to choose, or think for yourself. It’s taken the word “democracy” and stripped it of any and all of its meaning. 

If you say you’re a liberal, fuck you. If you say you’re a conservative, fuck you too. You’re a fucking American.
